Food, Fun, Fellowship… and a little competition

Sunday July 3rd was the date, CFC was the place, and not only was a BBQ planned but a little healthy competition too – a table tennis tournament. The prize?  Mary’s home-cooked brownies, and some of the guys drove 30 miles just in the hope of winning those brownies 😉

We had loads of visitors in town too, because the Summer Family Bible Conference at Andrew Wommack Ministries started next day.  After our bellies were filled the tournament was on, and the field was slimming out as the fastest and most skilled moved ahead in the rounds.  The semi-finals had Pastor Andy, new CBC student Chris Cree, 2nd year CBC student David Carter, and Pastor Tom all battling to make it to the finals and the ultimate win – brownies.  Anyone would think David hadn’t eaten a brownie for quite some time, but as he’d only just arrived back from Texas and his mother’s and grandma’s home-cookin’, we knew better. But none the less the finals were down to young and old… or should we say “older”.  The winner… Pastor Tom, who enjoys Mary’s brownies regularly, so he shared them around and sent some home with those two lovable students David Carter and Shane Machado, always willing to help out with cleaning off the table at the end of the day 😉

All in all, a great afternoon was had by all.  Charis Fellowship Church certainly held up to their name as the main pastime was fellowship and sharing life with friends and family.
