Mark 11:22-23 (NKJV)
22  So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God.

  • Jesus is instructing us how to have faith in God
  • He’s never wanted it to be a mystery.
  • This is not a parable…He’s straight out with the truth…
  • How to book on how faith works.

23  For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.

  • There is an emphasis on saying to have faith.

2 Corinthians 5:7 (NKJV)
7  For we walk by faith, not by sight.

Romans 1:17 (KJV)
17  For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV)
6  But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

  • I didn’t write that…but God is a respecter of faith.
  • You’re just that faith bunch…victory comes no other way.

1 John 5:4 (KJV)
4  For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

How do we

  1. live by faith
  2. walk by faith
  3. overcome by faith

By believing and saying and decreeing a thing!!

We need to get excited about the power of our words.

Many will make fun of us for valuing what we say…the devils concerned too!

  • You learn how to speak on purpose…agreeing with heaven…and the devils in trouble.

Mark 4:17 (NKJV)
17  and they have no root in themselves, and so endure only for a time. Afterward, when tribulation or persecution arises for the word’s sake, immediately they stumble.

  • Name it, claim it.
  • Profess it, poses it.

To Despise this is to devalue it…ignore it…make fun of this…words are insignificant.

  • Like saying “Hocus-pocus” POW there it is…not so!!
  • You’re putting me under bondage…why? Not esteeming words as important.

but Jesus valued words and he wants us to value them as well.

23  For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.

  • Our words are important…they have power to change things.
  • We need to make an effort to train ourselves to speak on purpose.
  • To operate as the master would want us to operate…walk by faith, live by faith, the Kingdom way.

People would call us “Hagenites and Coplandnites”…they didn’t write Mark 11…Jesus taught it 2000yrs ago.

Let’s be “Jesusites”…people need to watch out who or what they make fun of!!!

The role words play in our lives

Most people do not believe you have what you say.

If they did…they would watch what they say!

Mark 11:23-24 (NKJV)
23  For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.
24  Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.

  • V24…prayer—Believe you receive before you see it or feel it…have faith in God and His word.
  • V23…is not prayer—you speak and declare with the authority God gave you.

~ if you say a thing you don’t have to pray about it.

~ if you pray about something…you from then on agree with it…don’t ask again!!

  • Always stay on God’s side…

~ if the doctor says something against God’s word…be polite but say what God says about that problem.

~ pray for one thing…but later confess another thing.

~ Declare a thing…later pray and ask God for it…you didn’t believe you received.

  • V23…Not Prayer…

~ “Lord, please remove that mountain.” Or “Will you remove it for me?”

~ NO! “Mountain Be Removed and Cast Out Into The Sea!”…

~ Every time the subject comes up…”I thank you it’s in the sea.”

~ We walk by faith, not by sight…this is how faith works.

but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.

  • Yes we need to agree with what God says.
  • But Jesus says we need to believe what we say…the words of our mouth we must believe.
  • You can’t be a liar and be a person of faith…you won’t believe you.

Be selective of what you pray and confess

  • Don’t just pray and confess anything and everything…do it with purpose…it’s got to be in your heart first.
  • Unanswered pray hurts your faith
  • Be prepared to stand over the long haul. (after having done all to stand, stand therefore) Eph 6

2 Corinthians 4:13 (NKJV)
13  And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I believed and therefore I spoke,” we also believe and therefore speak,

  • Do we have the same spirit of faith as Abraham, David, Daniel…YES
  • If they believed and spoke…We believe and speak also…how faith works has not changed.

How do we know we are believing anything by faith?

  • Are we excited about it or not! (Flippant – I already know that) just mental agreement.
  • Are we joyful! Bubbling out of our hearts…Faith comes from there…
  • Excitement comes from believing…Joy comes from believing…you can’t hear enough of it.
  • It’s not what you “Know” it’s what you “do” that counts…practice
  • If after we pray you are still depressed!!! It’s because you don’t believe what we prayed.
  • He meets all my needs according to His riches in glory…should cause joy and excitement in the trail.
  • By His strips you were healed…should cause you to celebrate as you walk away.
  • Smile through the Bills through the Pain…
  • Worst witness = depressed Christian
