Proverbs 21:23 (New King James Version)
23  Whoever guards his mouth and tongue Keeps his soul (life) from troubles…Soul (Greek) – Life

Proverbs 18:7 (King James Version)
7  A fool’s mouth is his destruction, and his lips are the snare of his soul (Life).

Proverbs 23:7 (New King James Version)
7  For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. “Eat and drink!” he says to you, But his heart is not with you.

Disney World, celebrated the grand opening in 1971. Sadly, Walt Disney had passed away five years earlier.  At the festivities Lillian, his wife, was asked “Do you wish Walt could have seen this marvelous day?” Her reply “He already did.”

  • He had already seen it in his imagination.
  • When building Disneyland in California his vision was so strong he was turned down 101 times for a lone but he never quit.

Andrew Wommack talks about how he, at the Elton location, taped off the floor of the empty building with tape to show walls and doors. He walked through that building and visualized the walls and doors. Even preaching where the stage would be. When asked on opening day “so are you excited to see this finished” he replied “I’ve walked through this building so much and dreamed it’s completion that I am not a bit excited.”

  • He had seen it so much in his imagination; nothing was a surprise to him.

Albert Einstein said “Your imagination is everything. It is simply the preview of life’s coming attractions.”

John Maxwell said “Your life today is the result of your thinking yesterday. Your life tomorrow will be determined by what you think today.”

Is This Biblical?

Joshua 1:5-9 (NKJV)
5 No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you.
6 Be strong and of good courage, for to this people you shall divide as an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them.
7 Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go.
8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”

  • primitive root [compare <H1901> (hagiyg)]; to murmur (in pleasure or anger); by implication to ponder :- imagine, meditate, mourn, mutter, roar, × sore, speak, study, talk, utter. Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary.
  • Ponder, Imagine, Meditate…Speak, Talk…this is dreaming…picturing etc.

Hebrews 11:1 (NKJV)
1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Hebrews 11:1 (AMP)
1 NOW FAITH is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses].

  • You have to see it inside (Hope) first…and with faith we believe it will come to pass even when circumstances say “no way”.

Abraham

Hebrews 11:8-11 (NKJV)
8 By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going.
9 By faith he dwelt in the land of promise as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise;
10 for he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
11 By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised.

Hebrews 11:17-19 (NKJV)
17 By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac, and he who had received the promises offered up his only begotten son,
18 of whom it was said, “In Isaac your seed shall be called,”
19 concluding that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead, from which he also received him in a figurative sense.

  • He was not always convinced that God would come through.
  • God had to give Abraham an inner image of the promise God gave him.

God gives him a vision

  1. Genesis 12:1-4 (NKJV)
1 Now the LORD had said to Abram: “Get out of your country, From your family And from your father’s house, To a land that I will show you.
2 I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing.
3 I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
4 So Abram departed as the LORD had spoken to him, and Lot went with him. And Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran.
  • God’s word (The Blessing) was spoken into Abram.
  • He heard the word of God.
  • He was 75yrs old

Romans 4:16-21 (NKJV)
16 Therefore it is of faith that it might be according to grace, so that the promise might be sure to all the seed, not only to those who are of the law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all
17 (as it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations”) in the presence of Him whom he believed–God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did;
18 who, contrary to hope, in hope believed, so that he became the father of many nations, according to what was spoken, “So shall your descendants be.”
19 And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb.
20 He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God,
21 and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform.

How did God get him his destiny promise in 25 years of having a child??

God Gives him pictures

A man named Arnold

I decorated my bedroom wall right next to my bed all with pictures. I hung up pictures of strongmen, bodybuilders, wrestlers, and boxers. I was driven to think big to dream big. Everyone else thought I was crazy. What you do is create a vision of who you want to be and then live into that picture as if it were already true.

Arnold Schwarzenegger on the process of achieving his bodybuilding dream of becoming Mr. Universe

in 1976 Arnold had a dream of becoming a box office movie star. A sports writer asked Arnold “How do you plan on fulfilling that dream?” He replied “It’s the same process I used in bodybuilding, what you do is create a vision of who you want to be and then live into that picture as if it were already true.

  • I don’t have to tell you how much success Arnold Schwarzenegger has had in Hollywood.

A man named Tim

Tim grew up in a middle-class family of five brothers and one sister. At the age of 11, he lost his dad in a tragic car accident. Tim struggled all through school and into college. Because of the pent up anger he had inside due to his father’s death, Tim began using drugs. He felt sorry for himself; he was mad at the world, and destruction was the result.

Eventually, his decisions resulted in a prison sentence when he was caught selling drugs. In that cold prison cell trapped behind bars, Tim had a defining moment. He began to realize that he had no one to blame but himself. He woke up. He took full responsibility for where he had landed in life.

He began investing himself by reading books constantly. And his mind began to expand, so did his dreams. He began organizing prison talent shows where he was the MC. A naturally gifted comedian, he began to embrace his talent for humor.

Once released from the penitentiary, he was able to land a great job at a talent agency. Not long after, people began to notice him. Tim even turned down a role from Disney to play a major role in a TV show. He had his own vision for his life, and began to pursue it wholeheartedly.

His dream was to star in his own TV show that reflected his personality and sense of humor. It was a show about a handyman on TV, and that show became a major hit called Home Improvement starring Tim Allen.

13 years after his release from prison, Tim Allen was starring in the top TV program in America at a number one book on the New York Times bestseller list and had the lead role in a major motion picture The Santa Claus

Let’s Dream…15 minutes a day

  1. Assign a spot to imagine your dreams.
  • I go downstairs with coffee and bible on our cozy couch or pace around.
  • L. Osborne…”Tranquility produces creativity”
  1. Schedule time
  • I like getting up at 4am til 5am before getting ready for work.
  • Make sure it is time you can be faithful to everyday.
  • Act as if your life depends on it…it does.
  1. Get read of distractions.
  • This is for the purpose to hear from God and get direction.
  • See on the inside what God has for you.
  1. Sit quietly for 15 minutes
  • Don’t get frustrated the first few days.
  • God wants to reveal your future and plan for your life more than you do.
  • 15 min is not that long.
  • Work your way into more time as you want to.
  1. Write what you see.
  • I always have note paper with me.
  • Paper and pen…bedside, bathroom, work…
  • God can reveal at anytime.
  • Write what you see no matter how big it is…or outrageous.
  • Habakkuk 2:2-3 (NKJV)
2 Then the LORD answered me and said: “Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it.
3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry.
  • Habakkuk 2:2-3 (AMP)
2 And the Lord answered me and said, Write the vision and engrave it so plainly upon tablets that everyone who passes may [be able to] read [it easily and quickly] as he hastens by.
3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time and it hastens to the end [fulfillment]; it will not deceive or Though it tarry, wait [earnestly] for it, because it will surely come; it will not be behindhand on its appointed day.
  • Romans 8:24-25 (New King James Version)
24 For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees?
25  But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.
  • I have images that I have been holding on to for years and some are coming to pass right now and some seem a long ways away…but I am holding on to them.
  1. Spend time reviewing those visions and dreams everyday with the Lord.
  • See yourself entering into the fulfillment of those dreams…like Arnold Schwarzenegger.
  • Birthing this church…teaching at college etc.
